Rings within rings within rings. A layered lotus holds the center while bands of petals and curled spirals work outward to the square border. Regions shrink as you move inward, so pick your center colors first and let the outer bands support them. Fine-tip markers or a truly sharp pencil will earn their keep in the tightest ring.
Symmetry is the quiet gift of a mandala. Color one wedge and you've basically solved the rest. Warm golds against deep plum look wonderful here, though that might just be me.
