About this coloring page
Raked sand does most of the work in this garden, and that's good news for anyone who finds dense pattern pages tiring. Long ribbons of parallel lines curve around a potted bonsai and a small stone lantern, then break against two clusters of standing rocks. A wooden bridge arcs over the stream, where ten or so koi swim single file. Try alternating creams and pale grays through the sand ripples; the repetition is genuinely calming, and the wide bands forgive a wobbly hand. Save your brightest orange for the fish. They're the most forgiving thing on the page, which makes this a lovely first step into adult coloring. Cardstock helps if gel pens are coming out.
