About this coloring page
Start with the toucan under the banana leaves, then work clockwise. A macaw perches beside a hanging woven nest, and a cockatoo lifts its crest along the right edge. Between them a hummingbird holds perfectly still. Lower down, three flamingos wade near a tiered waterfall, and a flowered archway opens onto a stone path that wanders toward distant palms. Songbirds fill the bottom corners for anyone keeping score.
Dense bird pages are really palette exercises. Each species hands you a different color family, from toucan black-and-sunset through flamingo pink, so the real challenge is keeping the foliage quiet enough to hold them all together. Two or three greens, no more. Hibiscus blooms give you one final hit of red at the bottom.
