About this coloring page
Water runs straight down the middle of this courtyard, from the palace gate along a reflecting pool to a star-shaped fountain in the foreground, and everything else arranges itself around that line. Patterned domes stack behind the great gateway while twin minarets rise at the sides. Date palms lean in from both margins, heavy with fruit. Two camels rest on the tiles, the nearer one wearing a saddle blanket fringed with tassels, and a pair of peacocks patrols the flower beds.
Geometric tilework rewards planners. Choose a small palette for the star patterns and repeat it with discipline, then let the gardens go lush around all that order. Turquoise with terracotta is a proven pairing. The tasseled blanket is the fun bit.
