X-bracing criss-crosses the crane's tall mast all the way up, and the hook dangles right over the steel skeleton of a new building. Down at street level, three striped traffic cones stand guard. So the scene tells its own story; something big is going up today.
Fair warning about the mast. Those lattice triangles are truly fiddly, and a fine-tip marker handles them far better than a crayon ever will. The building frame and the cones, though, are quick wins for younger builders. Safety-vest orange and steel gray make the obvious palette, and a bright blue sky keeps it cheerful. Great pick for kids who stop to watch real construction sites, which seems to be most of them.
