Scope and single purpose
This policy applies to the ColorDojo browser extension for Chrome and Firefox published by Caravaca Labs, LLC. ColorDojo's single purpose is to help people capture, inspect, convert, evaluate, organize, and export colors for web design and development.
This policy does not govern your visit to the Coloring Dojo website. The website, including the page you are reading now, is covered by the separate website privacy policy. Website analytics described there are not included in the ColorDojo extension.
Information ColorDojo handles
Website content
Only after you activate Inspect, Loupe, or Extract, ColorDojo processes the active page information needed for that feature. This can include computed color styles, color-related CSS custom properties, and a temporary image of the visible tab for pixel sampling. Processing occurs on your device. ColorDojo does not deliberately extract page text, form values, audio, or video. A visible-tab image is held in memory while the loupe runs and is not saved after the tool closes.
Web history
ColorDojo reads the active tab's URL to determine whether the requested tool can run and to obtain its hostname. A hostname, such as example.com, can be stored with a picked color or extracted palette so you can identify its source later. ColorDojo does not store the full URL, page title, or a list of pages you did not use with the extension. It does not monitor browsing in the background.
User activity during an active color tool
Inspect and Loupe temporarily use pointer position, clicks, a dragged selection area, scrolling, and cancel keys such as Escape or right-click so you can select a pixel, element, or area. This interaction data is used only while the requested tool is active. It is not saved, logged, or transmitted.
Colors, palettes, history, and settings
ColorDojo stores the color values you pick or import, the capture method and time, optional source hostname, pinned state, palette names and colors, last active color, and extension preferences. These records provide color history, reusable palettes, formatting defaults, and the settings you choose.
Clipboard
ColorDojo writes a color value, CSS or Tailwind token, export, or palette share link when you choose a Copy action. If auto-copy is enabled, it also writes your default format after an explicit color pick. ColorDojo never reads clipboard contents.
How the information is used
- Return the color, format, token match, contrast result, or palette you request.
- Keep your settings, history, pinned colors, and saved palettes available.
- Label a saved color or palette with its source hostname.
- Write a requested result to your clipboard.
ColorDojo does not use extension data for advertising, profiling, market research, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to its color workflow.
Storage, sharing, and retention
Local browser storage
Picked-color history, saved palettes, source hostnames, pinned state, and the last active color are stored in the browser's local extension storage. Unpinned history is limited to the number you choose, from 1 to 500 entries. Local records remain until you clear them, reset ColorDojo, or remove the extension.
Google Chrome Sync
In Chrome, extension settings use Chrome's sync storage. A palette is added to Chrome Sync only when you turn on its Sync control. Google may transmit and retain this data through your signed-in Chrome profile under Google's privacy practices. Caravaca Labs cannot read or retrieve your Chrome Sync data. The Firefox build does not use Firefox Sync.
Sharing and access
ColorDojo has no developer-operated data server, and Caravaca Labs does not receive, sell, or share the extension data described above. If you create and copy a palette share link, the palette is encoded in the link fragment and is not sent anywhere by the extension. The recipient can view it only if you choose to share and open that link.

Remote code and network access
ColorDojo does not use remote code. All executable JavaScript, libraries, color data, and styles are included in the submitted extension package. The extension does not load external scripts or modules, evaluate downloaded strings, or load remote WebAssembly. It makes no developer-directed runtime network requests.
Your controls
- Clear unpinned or all picked-color history from the History tab.
- Delete saved palettes or turn off Sync for an individual palette.
- Change or disable automatic clipboard copying in Settings.
- Use Reset all ColorDojo data before uninstalling to clear both local and synchronized ColorDojo state and revoke your stored privacy choice.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
ColorDojo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Firefox Add-ons data declaration
The Firefox build declares that it does not collect or transmit personal data to ColorDojo, Caravaca Labs, analytics providers, or other third-party services. It stores settings, history, and palettes in local Firefox extension storage and does not write them to Firefox Sync.
Changes to this policy
If ColorDojo's data handling changes, this policy will be updated and the change will be disclosed in the extension before the new handling begins. The last-updated date at the top identifies the current version.
