About this coloring page
Perched cats always look smug, and this one has earned it, holding the top of a picket fence with the enormous full moon framed behind her like a spotlight. Bare branches reach in from both sides and a scatter of stars freckles the sky.
Finally, a page where the black crayon gets the starring role. Lay it down heavy on the cat and burnish until the wax shines, then set her against a deep blue sky and a pale yellow moon. The fence pickets repeat, which younger kids find oddly satisfying to fill one by one. It also makes a handsome October decoration taped to a classroom window.
