About this coloring page
Brush and palette occupy both front paws, and the canvas on the easel is completely, invitingly blank. That blank canvas is the whole trick of the page. After coloring the cheerful cat, kids get to draw whatever masterpiece the artist is about to paint, which quietly doubles the activity.
The palette's six paint wells are empty circles too, so filling each with a different color turns it into a tiny sampler. Bold primaries suit the cartoon style. Thick outlines and big shapes put it squarely in kindergarten range. More often than not the canvas ends up holding a portrait of the family pet, so maybe leave the real one in view while they work.
