Knight and Shield

About this coloring page

Our knight stands square in front of a two-towered castle, pointed shield on one arm and a long sword resting tip-down. Look closer and you'll find rivets on the shoulder plates and narrow slits in the visor. A cape sweeps off to one side, and a feathery plume tops the helmet.

All that armor means lots of medium and small regions, so fine-tip markers or sharp pencils are the right tools, and patient hands around age seven and up will get the cleanest result. Silver-gray armor with a bold red plume is traditional. Burnishing the metal areas with a white crayon afterward gives a surprisingly convincing shine. The shield is blank on purpose; every knight needs a coat of arms, and inventing one is half the fun of this page.
