About this coloring page
Patches on the hat, patches on the jacket, and the pants didn't escape either. This scarecrow is more mending than shirt at this point, and the straw poking out at both wrists suggests nobody minds. A cluster of ribbed pumpkins crowds around the post below, wide leaves tucked between them, while two clouds hang up top and stay out of the way.
Burnt orange on the pumpkins and mustard on the straw set the season, then a faded denim blue wherever the trousers show through. A fine-tipped marker helps on the button stitching and the hat patch, so kids under six may want an adult on detail duty. Print a second copy for a fall countdown, coloring one pumpkin per week until the season actually arrives.
