About this coloring page
Hooves hooked over the stall door, one very pleased pony leans out to see who's visiting. The scene is nearly all wood, plank after plank, with a crossbraced gate below and a bucket sitting by the corner. A round hay bale fills the lower left, drawn in loose scribbly strands that look great with quick, flicked pencil strokes. So this page rewards patience with browns. Mix them. Honey planks next to walnut beams keep the barn from going flat. Line weight is heavy throughout, which forgives wobbly hands, and the big door frames make natural resting points for younger colorers. The bucket ends up red nine times out of ten, no matter who's coloring. I've stopped questioning it.
