About this coloring page
A saddled horse steps along a winding, pebble-dotted path, reins looped back and one front leg lifted mid-walk. Trees with round leafy tops rise on both sides, and ferny plants curl in the corners. The saddle comes complete with a stirrup and girth strap. It's the busiest of these horse scenes. Lots of medium-sized regions, so fine-tip markers or sharp pencils beat chunky crayons here, and older kids around eight and up will settle in best. Work back to front. Do the greens and the path first, and save the horse for last, so the layers stack the way a real trail does. And the tack is a chance to try leather tones you don't often use, like oxblood or a deep saddle tan. Slow coloring, in the best way.
