About this coloring page
Stars run right around the base of this carousel horse, with more on the saddle and scattered through the sky behind it. The pole is striped like a candy cane, and the harness is studded with little circles. Front legs prance in that frozen mid-leap every carousel horse holds forever. Of all the horse pages here, it's the most ornamented, which makes it the right pick for kids who find plain animals boring.
Fine-tip markers handle the small studs and star points better than crayon nubs will. Carousel horses are traditionally loud, so go loud. Jewel tones on the saddle, foil-bright yellow on the pole stripes. And burnishing the saddle panel with a second heavy layer of colored pencil makes it look properly lacquered.
