About this coloring page
Wood grain fills every corner of the background, drawn in dashes and dotted whorls across the broad deck planks, so the busywork is built right in. On top of that timber sit the navigator's tools. A three-section spyglass stretches across the scene at a diagonal. An eight-point compass rose waits in its round case near the bottom, with a coiled rope stacked beside it. Even the coil has its twist lines drawn in.
Of the whole pirate series, in my view this is the page for patient hands. All that dashed grain creates dozens of slim spaces where a well-sharpened pencil pays off, and colorers who enjoy slow, repeating detail work will be happiest here. Set aside a longer sitting for it too, since rushing the grain defeats the point. A trick worth stealing: alternate two browns plank by plank so the deck reads as real boards.
