Prepare the picture
Pick an image with a distinct subject and enough contrast around its edges. Crop it, straighten it, and remove background objects that would create confusing lines. A slightly simplified picture usually makes a better page than a more faithful but cluttered conversion.
Clean the line work
After using an edge or sketch filter, inspect the result at full size. Erase specks, join broken contours, and remove lines that do not describe a useful shape. Make sure important regions are enclosed; open gaps can let digital fills spill or make printed areas hard to read.
Make a real-size test
Export as a high-resolution PNG or PDF and print one copy before distributing it. Check that the outlines remain dark, the smallest details are still visible, and there is enough blank margin for a normal sheet of paper. For ready-made pages, browse the free coloring page library.
