Choose the right level of detail
A portrait, pet, or single object is usually easier than a crowded group scene. Decide whether the finished page should feel simple for children or more detailed for adults, then remove textures that would become gray visual noise when printed.
Trace the shapes that matter
Use an edge-detection tool, a sketch filter, or a new layer for manual tracing. Keep the outside contour strong and use fewer interior lines than you think you need. Close important shapes and leave breathing room between neighboring areas so the page stays pleasant to color.
Export for the final use
