How to make a coloring page on Procreate?

Create a page-sized canvas at 300 DPI, draw dark consistent outlines on a separate layer, close the regions, and export a high-resolution PDF or PNG. Print a proof before publishing.

Set the canvas before drawing

Use the final paper dimensions and 300 DPI so the lines remain sharp in print. Keep a white background layer and a separate line-art layer. A consistent, comfortably dark brush is easier to print and color than a delicate sketch brush.

Draw closed, comfortable regions

Inspect every boundary at high zoom and close small gaps before export. Avoid filling the sheet with unnecessary texture; the person coloring needs clear decisions about where each area begins and ends. Keep margins away from the trim edge.

Export a paper proof

Export a print-ready PDF or a high-resolution PNG, then print the page at its intended size. Check the faintest lines, smallest regions, and page margins. Our guide to making a coloring book covers the larger workflow from drawing through publishing.
