Chunky crayons finally get a page built for them. Two magnolia blooms open in big cupped petals, a third bud stays furled at the top left, and every leaf on the branch is wide enough to color without slowing down. Magnolias genuinely bloom this oversized, some old Southern varieties open nearly dinner-plate wide, so going bold here fits the botany. Creamy white petals blushed pink along one edge is the classic look. Or borrow the deep purple-pink of a saucer magnolia. Either way, the leaves want a glossy dark green laid down with heavy pressure.
